Once you have all ingredients at your hand, follow this easy 5-step liquid hand soap recipe:

  1. Mix your olive oil with coconut oil in a glass bowl and heat up the mixture in a water bath. Set aside to cool down a bit.
  2. Meanwhile, mix in your lye into the water until it dissolves.
  3. Pour the lye solution into your oil mixture and start heating it up again. Stir until it starts to thicken and let it cool down afterwards (ideally overnight).
  4. On the next day, bring the mass into room temperature and start thinning it with water in a 1 : 3 ratio (1 portion of soap paste to 3 portions of water).
  5. Pour your soap into the soap container and enjoy your new homemade liquid soap.

Extra Tip: If you want to add a bit of extra scent to your homemade soap, you can mix in some additional ingredients based on your taste. Add a few drops of essential oils for a more seasonal scent, or coffee grounds which can help with exfoliation. The combinations are endless.
