With all the craziness and cancellations that have been happening this year, we’ve got some good news: Amazon Prime Day is back for 2020! The 5th annual online celebration delivers incredible savings on products from small businesses and top brands. This year, Amazon decided to spread the joy early as well as make it more than a one-day phenomenon. Celebrate good deals and know the ins and outs of your shopping extravaganza.
Due to the Coronavirus outbreak, Prime Day 2020 was postponed from its original date. The pandemic largely disrupted the supply chain across the country, as they worried about labor safety and supply. Typically, there would be large hires of seasonal staff as well as an increase in hours during a big event like Prime Day.
However, with the priority of workers’ safety in mind, that could not happen until it was harmless to do so. The pandemic also shut down or paused many of Amazon’s biggest sellers, causing them to put a hold on manufacturing. Therefore, Amazon would not be able to get their supply in a timely manner. Now, things are looking up, including the once questionable economic situation.
The spectacular was supposed to be held in July, but is now happening this month on October 13th and lasting until October 15th. However, although there’s a set date for the event, early Prime Day deals have started. Great discounts are available as far as a week prior. So be on the lookout for some early steals!
Although it’s called Amazon Prime Day, it lasts for more than that. In 2020, Prime Day now runs from October 13th at 3AM ET until October 15th and 2:59AM ET, making this a 48-hour timeframe. But check those early Prime deals, last-minute deals, and deals after Prime Day officially ends.
If you’re in the market for some of the latest technology and smart home accessories, you’ll be wanting to look for Amazon’s own Echo, Alexa, and Fire smart home products, as well as Blink and Ring doorbell systems. These typically are always hot-ticketed items during Amazon Prime Day, as well as TVs, FitBits, and wireless earbuds. Some are even available now!
There have also been past great deals on bedding and linens, vacuums, clothes and accessories, shoes, and even furniture.
This year, keep your eyes peeled for deals on high-demand electronics, like the Nintendo Switch and Smartwatch Models.
Although Black Friday sales always are sure to be great bargains, there’s no sense in waiting! Prime Day will drop their prices greatly, so you’ll be getting just as good deals, on this day compared to Black Friday. However, if you are still unsure and would rather wait it out, you can always see if prices drop even lower during Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
In order to shop on Amazon Prime Day and get the best deals, you’ll need to be a Prime member. If you’re not a Prime member, it’s free to join for 30 days, and then afterwards it’s $119 per year.
